“Heal The Wound But Keep The Scar”

“What day is it,?” asked Pooh.
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

And remember, it’s important not to get any exercise before you actually get to the exercise place.

Heal The Wound But Keep The Scar

I used to wish that I could rewrite history
I used to dream that each mistake could be erased
Then I could just pretend
I never knew me back then I used to pray that You would take this shame away
Hide all the evidence of who I’ve been
But it’s the memory of
The place You brought me from
That keeps me on my knees
And even though I’m free Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scarI have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don’t take pride in what I bring
But I’ll build an altar with
The rubble that You’ve found me in
And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scarDon’t let me forget
Everything You’ve done for me
Don’t let me forget
The beauty in the sufferingHeal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

839. Sage advice from a bumper sticker…
“Wag more. Bark less.”

840. “”When a thought of anxiety comes knocking on the door of your mind you must refuse it entrance. If you invite it in, it will have dinner with you, and if it has dinner with you it will quickly move in and want to spend the night.”

841. “Be Discerning: Don’t believe everything you think.”  😉  Ha.  Good one.

844. God’s answer to prayer yesterday: I felt better overall, had a great time in the Word,  coughed less, ate only healthy foods that build my body up, got good exercise in, and slept better.  WOW!!!  Thank You Lord and thank you to all who are praying. 🙂

845. God’s bountiful provision with berries on sale at Aldi’s: yummy , blueberries $1.29/pt and strawberries $1.29/pound yesterday.  Thank
You, Father  for this special treat at such a great deal.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5

King James Version (KJV)

4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].” 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 AMP

  1. Nancy Fraley says:

You might buy cherry juice for the cough.

    Love,

    Nancy Louise

  2. Lillie says:

    Dear Paula,

You are on the right track in writing positive, thankful and joyful words. These words are your spoken thoughts and are powerful. The Word says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”. You are sharing life with yourself and others and are, like David, encouraging yourself in the Lord.

    Love, Lillie

  3. Beth Karadeema says:

where is Aldi’s? I”m guessing a private fruit stand? I”m jealous! glad you had a better day yesterday! Amen to that!

Hi, Paula – Well, I copied and shared the poem, “Heal the Wound But Keep the Scar”, with someone else that I wanted to encourage. Thanks for posting so many great things on your blog.
I also really like # 841. “Be Discerning: Don’t believe everything you think.” That is great advice for me, too!!
I’m very thankful you felt a bit better yesterday. Love & Prayers, Sharon

    Hi Paula,
The cartoon about the Bible is so true. You rarely, if ever, seem to fall apart and your blogs are so uplifting. Thanks so much. So Glad you feel better. Have a great day. God Bless. Kathy

  8. Paula says:

    Good mornin’!
Nancy-thx for the tip on the cherry juice. I forgot about that. I’ve been doing some elderberry juice along with carrot/green juice, tons of Juice Plus, also all good for immunity.
Lille, I appreciate the reminder on that “Death and life is in the power of the tongue” verse. Thanks.
Beth, Aldi is a discount chain a lot like “Save A Lot”, both of which are the grocery stores I use the most. Here is a store locater: http://www.aldi.us/index_ENU_HTML.htm
Sharon, actually that wasn’t a poem–it’s the words to a song by Point of Grace. Check out the link above–I really enjoyed that song. Glad you could pass it along to your friend and hope it was an encouragement.
Esther, thanks for sharing my prayer requests with the ladies at the Bible Study. Please tell them God is answering. and that I am praying through their requests too 🙂
Denise, hope it is warm enough and rain-free enough for you to have a marvelous ride on your beautiful horse soon. Hey, do you guys get shipments of strawberries from plant City too?
Kathy, oh I think all of us “fall apart” plenty to a certain extent , if not on the outside, then on the inside — keeps us looking to Him and in the Word, huh? Hey, how are you recouperating from the radiation? Hope your skin is healing (may take some time–mine was a mess but did heal nicely, PTL) and your energy soon returns. Did you start on a hormone blocker yet too? When will you be finishing your year on IV Herceptin?

    Paula
