“Anybody Can Have Peace When the Sun is Shining…”

There are many stories related to the sinking of the “Titanic”. Some have come to light due to the success of the movie. For example, most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellman’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. The “Titanic” was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City.  The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning which they still observe today.
It is known, of course, as: Sinko de Mayo

Thank you Paula for sharing your blog address. Terri from Desert Son was kind enough to include it in here resent email to church members. I truly believe nothing happens by mistake and your words were exactly what we needed to hear at this very moment. My husband and I are joyful to hear you are doing so well and your treatments are in the past, God definately has smiled down on you. My husband Jack is fighting his own battle with Cancer, both Leukemia and Lung along with conjestive heart failure. He was diagnosed 2 years ago and has faced it all head on with a strength that amazes me. He has had many conversations with Pastor Tim and has accepted Christ once again into his life. He has been showered with prayers from all across the country and there is no doubt in our minds about the power of prayer. Sadley the news we received this December was not what we wanted to hear but Jack is at peace with the fact that his amazing oncologist has been touched by Gods hands and has done everything within in the power he gave her to bring him this far. He has beat the odds more than once and says he knows that God has been and is watching over him. He knows he is in Gods hands and his faith is stronger than ever before. He awakens each day and gives thanks to God for giving him another precious day. Christmas this year was filled with more joy and love than any other. Our home was filled with the laughter of children, grand children and great grand children. We are blessed to be surrounded by so much love and to have our Lord and Savior looking down on us. Again, thank you so much for sharing your journey, you are blessed by Gods light. Before I close I want to pass these words written by Helen Keller on to you. “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow”. God Bless and keep you in his tender care.
In Christs name, Rosemary and Jack Smith

      Hi Rosemary,
So nice to hear from you! I just lifted up Jack and you in prayer. I can see God is doing beautiful things in your lives. I’m heading to Tucson in January to see family–It would be great to see you guys in church then. 🙂 Paula

    Hi to Rosemary and Jack.

I am so sorry to hear of Jack’s long fight, but glad to hear of His powerful witness for Christ. Though times are tough still Jesus either walks with us or carries us when we can go no further on our own. I will keep you all in prayer and I thank Jesus that this was such a wonderful Holiday for you and yours. God Bless. Kathy Geiger
